CHRISTIANS ARE THE MOST DIVIDED SET OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD - Emmanuel Ariyo
From my findings, I have discovered that hundreds of millions of churches are in existence from different origins and beliefs all over the world. In fact some people are already complaining that churches are becoming too much. Actually I don't subscribe to that, because I believe that the more churches we have, the more the gospel can spread to the nooks and crannies of the world, the more darkness is subdued and the knowledge of God fills the earth as water covers the sea.
But it's unfortunate that the enemy has hijacked the positive effects of vast Christians and churches and turned it to problem using division, hatred and strife as an instrument.
The major cause of division among Christians is the existence of different church doctrines and beliefs. And as a result, Christians are divided over dressing, mode of worship, wedding or burial ceremony, style of music, dances in church and many other activities. Every one in a particular ministry has his own doctrine which differs from the doctrines of other Christians in other ministeries. And every one believes that his or her doctrine is correct while any contrary doctrine is wrong, so an average Christian naturally hates someone who does not agree to his doctrine. It's very unfortunate that seeing a Pastor speaking evil of other pastors in other churches in public just because of disagreements over doctrines is a common thing nowadays.
If Christians are just divided over doctrines only it would have been better, but this division had led to hatred, anger and strife. Christians all over the world cannot see themselves as one but enemies all because of disagreements on dressing, method of prayer or mode of worship etc. That's a sign that love is missing. So due to division, the Christian world is weak and cannot have a voice in the Nations of the earth. I believe that the corruption and evil in the world today can be subdued if the church can unite and take their rightful place.
WE ARE DIFFERENT AND CAN'T BE THE SAME
One thing I wanna state very clearly is that we cannot all believe and accept the same doctrine as Christians. Though the Bible is one, but we can't see it and understand it the same way. It's normal for us to have different beliefs. God created us with different minds, different philosophies, so we are expected to have different views, ideologies and understanding about certain things in the Bible. We cannot all see and understand God In just one dimension, that was why Apostle Paul said we know in part... God is so big that no man can understand the totality of him. So when you see or hear something new, don't be quick to judge and condemn, it might be a part of God that you have not known. But there are some basic things that a Christian must know for sure, as long as you are a Christian on the highway of holiness(Highway of God) you must believe and agree that Jesus died for your sin and rose again the third day. And by his death, you were reconciled to God. If a man believes that, he is a Christian, he is saved and he is born again. He might be doing somethings you feel is not right, you need to understand that as he continues to follow God, those things will leave with time. So let's accept ourselves and our differences, so long as a man still believes in Christ, take him as your brother in faith.
I also wanna say that what makes Christianity interesting and lively is the individual differences that exist among ministers and ministries, if all ministers know, preach and do the same thing every time, church could have been a boring place. But the existence of diversities has made Christiandom adventurous and amazing
The Apostles of old had different opinions about certain doctrines of the scriptures, considering Romans chapter 4 and James chapter 2 you will discover that certain of the Apostles believed that justification is purely by grace and faith without works while some others believed that faith alone cannot save, works must be included. You might have your own interpretation but looking at it literally we can see that their views about that doctrine is different and yet they see themselves as one. So having different doctrines is not a new thing. Let's live in love, one thing has bound us together, that is our faith in Christ. I see the church rising and taking responsibility in the world.
A generation of believers is coming that will not be divided, they may have different doctrines on dressing, prayer or worship etc. But their differences will not divide them, they will operate and relate as one. Love will reign and their voice will be acknowledged all over the world. Nothing will be impossible with them because nothing can be refrained from unity
