WEARING TROUSERS AS A LADY IS NOT A SIN - Emmanuel Ariyo

     The book of Deuteronomy 22:5 says that a man should not wear what belongs to a woman, neither should a woman wear what belongs to a man. This verse of the scriptures has caused comfusion and division in the body of christ for several years. But it is not really confusing if we all can study carefully without been biased in following other people's opinion. Firstly, I wanna say that the above verse of the scriptures does not in any way condemn the use of trousers for ladies. Prior to this time, I also thought God detests ladies in trosours but as time goes on, with proper study with an unbiasedJ mind, i discovered some truths which are as follow
1) The Bible did not name trousers as male dress, neither was skirt labeled as female dress: Female or male wears are determined by the tradition and culture of a particular place. For example, there is a particular tribe in the eastern part of nigeria whose men tie wrapper while with some other tribes only women tie wrapper. Also considering the early tradition of Israel, we'll find out that the jewish men initially wore skirts. Aaron wore skirt, boaz, samuel, Moses, Saul etc  all wore skirts. See Deuteronomy 22: 30 kjv, 1 Samuel 24:4, Ruth 3:9 to mention just a few. I believe that in the days of Pentateuch (books of moses) both male and female wear skirts, that shows that skirt was a unisex clothing(having both male and female design) and its possible that trousers was not in existence at that time. So I am very sure that when Moses was writing the law that man should not wear what belongs to woman, trousers was not on his mind and he was never talking about about trousers
2) Trousers is also a unisex clothing, just like suits and shirts: A unisex clothing is a kind of cloth with both female and male designs. I belive that the complete  english dress of a man was a suit, shirt, tie, trousers and shoe. While that of a woman is a blouse, skirt or gown. But now, the english people have discovered a unisex system of clothing and have designed a FEMALE suits, female shirts, and female trousers. These clothings have unique features differenting the male's own from female's. If a lady wears a female shirt, she hasn't worn a man's cloth. Likewise if a lady wears a female trousers, she has not worn a man's cloth. It is due to the western culture and might be dificult for africans to understand.
3) The verse, Deuteronomy 22:5 was taken in isolation to condemn trousers neglacting other verses in the same chapter which condemn some other things that people do: Studying Deuteronomy 22, we'll find out that many other things were condemned apart from man should not wear a woman's cloth, and yet people refused to comdemn those things despite the fact that people do them. An example of what I'm talking about is in Deuteronomy 22:11. The verse is against wearing a cloth made of wool and linen, this kind of cloth is common every where now and nobody is condemning it. Why are those condemning trousers not condemning cloths of linen and wool? Someone said the new testament has abolished some laws in the old, I disagree, if the new testament abolished the laws then it should abolish all laws not selected few. 
                    Also in Nigeria, fresh graduates from the Universities or polytechnic first of all engage in a National  Youth service corp(NYSC), everyone involved in this program wore trousers especially when kitted.  I was always very surprise,  seeing ladies who have rejected trousers in the past due to their religion now wearing it because of NYSC certificate. I keep asking the question, why will a man give up is faith because of certificate? If rapture takes place during service year and you are found in trousers as a lady what will happen? Someone said God  will understand.  Actually I believe with God there is no  excuse for sin. If God will permit trousers for NYSC then he will also permit it for other reasons too because he is  not a respecter of man.
                   finally,  I wana say that I  love those that have condemned trousers and those still condemning it, I understand it's their loved and zeal for God. They wanna please God, But it's fortunate that God can't be pleased by the works of the law but by faith. Jesus  pleased God and gave us his righteousness that's why we are justified in God's presence.
